About 3000 cableways and tow lifts and 500 million passengers per year demonstrate "Austria's world power" in the field of ropeways. The highly qualified employees of TÜV Austria's division for cableway technology play a major role in making the cableways meet our guests' requirements and fulfilling the safety-technical standard demanded by the authorities. Scope of Services
Cableway Inspection :
acceptance and maintenance tests of aerial passenger ropeways, tow lifts and
material lifts ordered by cableway operators, manufacturers or by the authorities (tests according to the Austrian Cableway Testing Regulation SeilbÜV, 1995)
Component Tests :
· tests of cableway components based on national or international directives and
standards, type tests of safety components
· electromagnetic rope tests by means of permanent magnetic detectors and
fuzzylogic data processing
· measuring of braking forces of track cable brakes and rail grip brakes
· crack tests of installed drive shafts subject to bending with additional calculation
of the residual life cycle
· surface crack tests, metallurgical examinations and wall-thickness examinations of
rope grips, grip devices, hangers and other ropeway components
Accident Analyses :
· support for cableway operators and authorities by means of accident analyses;
performance and control improvement measures Safety-technical Service and
Workplace Evaluation:
· safety-technical assistance for cableway enterprises by our safety-technical
engineers
Training :
We support cableway operators by training their staff; we give expert lectures in specific cableway seminars and issue helpful training documents
LIFT TECHNOLOGY
TÜV AUSTRIA is a market leader and partner in questions regarding lift technology for residential and government buildings, as well as those in industrial and commercial use.
· Type examination of lifts and safety components for lifts
· Survey of safety-related hazards in the operation of lifts
· Inspections prior to and after repairs or modification of lifts
